Epoxy zinc-rich primer is a coating composed of epoxy resin, zinc phosphate, anti-rust pigments and fillers, additives, solvents, and curing agents. It can be used for steel structures, pipelines, mechanical equipment, storage tanks, etc. It can also be used for anti-corrosion coating in chemical, fertilizer, power plants, paper making, sewage treatment plants, etc. Epoxy zinc-rich primer has many advantages, such as strong anti-corrosion ability; fast drying speed and good construction performance; and good adhesion to galvanized sheets, aluminum alloys and other metal substrates.

Epoxy zinc-rich primer It is a coating composed of epoxy resin, zinc phosphate, anti-rust pigments and fillers, additives, solvents, and curing agents. It can be used for steel structures, pipelines, mechanical equipment, storage tanks, etc. It can also be used for anti-corrosion coating in chemical, fertilizer, power plants, paper making, sewage treatment plants, etc. Epoxy zinc-rich primer has many advantages, such as strong anti-corrosion ability; fast drying speed and good construction performance; good adhesion to galvanized sheets, aluminum alloys and other metal substrates.

The advantages of epoxy zinc-rich primer are explained in detail below.

  1. It has anti-corrosion ability

Epoxy zinc-rich primer uses zinc phosphate as the main anti-rust pigment, which forms a complex with strong adhesion and corrosion resistance through hydrolysis reaction, and performs phosphating treatment on the surface of the metal substrate, which plays a good role in corrosion inhibition and shielding.

  2. Fast drying speed and good construction performance

Epoxy zinc-rich primer It is a two-component coating that can dry on its own at room temperature, but has better performance after drying. Good construction performance.

  3. It has good adhesion to galvanized sheets, aluminum alloys and other metal substrates.

Epoxy zinc-rich primer has very low requirements for substrate treatment. It can be directly applied to the surface of steel that has been derusted to Sa2.5 quality, or it can be directly applied to the surface of weldable shop primer.

Epoxy zinc-rich primer It is the main type of primer for anti-corrosion and anti-rust of steel structures in the current atmospheric environment, and the technology is very mature. It is made of epoxy resin and zinc powder as raw materials, with thickeners, pigments, fillers, additives and solvents. It is mainly used for coating the inner and outer walls of steel pipes, piggy banks, steel structures and containers. Performance: First, as a primer, it has strong adhesion to the base surface, good mechanical properties, and excellent anti-corrosion performance. Due to the effect of zinc powder, it will provide cathodic protection and good electrical conductivity to the base surface. After one layer is applied, the coating film is greater than 75m, which can be pre-coated in the workshop, or can be used as an anti-rust primer for pipelines or gas tanks. However, there are still various construction problems with epoxy zinc-rich primers. The following are some precautions for epoxy zinc-rich primers:

The surface must be cleaned before coating, pay attention to the difference in temperature and humidity, dilute and adjust the viscosity to the best, and the coating should be carried out in strict accordance with the standards. Spraying should be used, air spraying or airless spraying. Small areas can be repaired by brushing. Roller coating is generally not recommended. For supporting paints such as epoxy micaceous iron, acrylic polyurethane topcoat, fluorocarbon topcoat, etc., roller coating is also not recommended.

Spraying should begin within 4 hours after sandblasting or dynamic derusting is completed, especially in areas with high air humidity or smoke corrosion near the sea. After the surface treatment is qualified, painting should begin immediately.

If the coating period is exceeded, it should be polished and cleaned to effectively remove the powder layer and zinc salt on the surface of the zinc-rich primer.
